Being based in Kirkcudbright, in the beautiful region of Dumfries & Galloway in South West Scotland, means that I have access to a whole range of coastline on my doorstep.
The beach is a popular location, particularly in the summer months, although I have photographed a few hardy souls in the bitterly cold winter sunshine too. This is a great location for all ages and types of shoots, ranging from small families to large groups, and it’s also a popular choice for maternity shoots.
I love the beach as I’m a huge fan of big skies, and I love the neutral tones of the landscape in photographs, but also due to the fact that many beaches around here also offer variety, with some greenery and open shade for when it’s a bit too sunny. It’s also a bit of an adventure for the kids, turning the shoot into something fun and enjoyable for everyone involved.
