Baby Olivia & Family

May 23rd, 2013 admin Blog No comments

I photographed baby Olivia and her parents last month, which was great fun.  We did the shoot indoors, which is always preferable when photographing babies, and luckily we had access to a large room with tons of great window light, so I couldn’t have wished for more (and for once, the weather wasn’t such an important factor in the day).

Olivia was a little angel throughout the shoot, and was quite happy to be placed here, there and everywhere and have outfit and accessory changes, a proper little model.  She was at her happiest, however, laying on the fluffy rug with nothing on but her lovely little smile! Eventually, tiredness swept over her and the session came to an end, but I felt happy that I had managed to capture some moments from our time together.

Here are a few shots from the session.

At the Beach

The Brown’s were one of the families who had booked me for a Mini Session in April, but had been forced to reschedule due to the bad weather. We planned to do the shoot one day on the beach after school, so I must admit I wasn’t sure what to expect. I knew the children were both pretty young, and as it was so close to teatime I had expected they might be a little fed up. The wind was also picking up all that day, so I was also prepared for the possibility of being forced to reschedule again.  I have to say that thankfully there was no need for me to be concerned in the slightest.

The family were a pleasure to photograph. I took a few group shots, then spent time on each child individually, incorporating a few props into the shots as the time went on.  The little girl was a little wary at first, but I loved her expressions as she relaxed more, from fairly serious and cautious, to the joy of having sand in between her fingers, to pure laughter at the very end.  And the boy was just a dream, so lovely and happy, and all the time really wanting to be photographed.  They were so photogenic, I could have carried on snapping away for hours.

I must admit, I do have a new love of photographing down at the beach, especially when it is cloudy as the light is so even and beautiful. This was one of my favourite family shoots to date, and I’m happy that the Brown’s are delighted with their photo’s too!
